Coviello Classics was launched in 2000, and among connoisseurs the name has long since become synonymous with uncompromising quality. At Coviello Classics, everything revolves around providing a unique listening experience; all technical and organizational questions must be subordinate to this goal. Key decisions are not made by profit-oriented managers but creative music designers –
on the one hand, the founders, managing directors, and driving forces Olaf Mielke and Moritz Bergfeld, trained sound engineers and musical production directors who give Coviello Classics productions their "tonal character," and on the other, the interpreters, who are naturally the most important partners. Their artistic statement is the central message of a recording. They are involved in all aesthetic decisions about a release.

The basic requirements for our new productions are artists and works of a high standard, whether the music is part of the core repertoire or one of our specialty editions:

Coviello Classics is the label under which MBM Musikproduktion recordings are distributed – whether as CD, DVD, or SACD. With a recording van especially designed for high-quality music productions and all the state-of-the-art equipment that goes with it, MBM has the best possible prerequisites for outstanding acoustical quality. Another essential factor is the competence of Coviello Classics' production directors, who are musically
trained sound engineers. They combine technical and musical quality, thus ensuring optimal sound results. Moreover, in every area and phase of a music production – including graphic design and editing of the accompanying printed material – Coviello Classics provides logistics and high-quality equipment as well as technical and aesthetic expertise.

A music release is not only recorded sound – there are many other aspects to consider and plan as well. The cover of a CD, DVD, or SACD should not only have appealing artwork but must also establish a meaningful connection with the musical content. The accompanying booklet should provide comprehensive information about the works, artists, and performance practice. The texts should stand up to scholarly scrutiny but also be understandable and entertaining.
Coviello Classics works with experienced graphic designers and authors to meet these difficult challenges. Finally, the finished product must be available in as many locations throughout the world as possible. We have local partners in many countries in Europe, Asia, and North America who known their markets well. They are regularly supplied with new releases, informational material, and press reviews – even when the production is actually finished, there is still a great deal of work involved.
